Save Your Old Super8 Movies On Digital Or DVD Formats

Over the last 15 years improvements have made trying to keep memorable events so much easier. You can use a camcorder to capture the memories in a digital format that can be transferred to your computer or to a DVD. But what about the memories captured on 8mm film before digital recordings were available. There are literally hundreds of thousands of feet of Super 8 and 16mm film with irreplaceable memories recorded on them being stored. The problem is that over time this kind of film can get brittle and become very easy to break, even if you try very hard to keep the film safe. Not only can the film itself degrade, the images on that film can also degrade. Color can fade over time and even complete images can fade away to the point that they can’t be recovered.
The good news for all of those people with these kinds of movies is that you can do Super8 film transfer to a digital format and then move that format to a DVD and the movies can then last for generations to view. The film transference can be a complex process that is best done by professionals. Many of the Camera and photo labs departments in the larger department stores can take your treasured film and send it to a very dependable lab to have the film transference done for a pretty reasonable price.
The proper way to make the conversion from film to a digital format is done one frame at a time. When all of the frames have been converted you can burn a master copy of the film transference. From this master copy you can make working copies, and by using some of the excellent software available today you can make enhancements. You can adjust the accuracy of the color or touch up any faded pictures. You can even do some creative editing. If you don’t feel that you have enough knowledge or skill with the software you can have professionals work on making your memories even better than the original movies that are still on film. Not only will you still have the original film, you will have a brand new digital master of your movies from which you can make as many copies as you want. Just imagine the surprise someone would experience if you were able to send them a DVD of their wedding day or an edited digital composition of all of their children’s birthday parties.
